I’d like to bring along a favorite C.D. to help me relax during the photo session. O.K.?
Bring along your favorite music we have both c.d. and tape playback facilities at the studio and have found that individual music may inspire you to be more relaxed and creative the end result FABULOUS PICTURES.

"One of my best friends is my dog. Are pets allowed in senior portraits?"
Yes I have photographed many seniors with their pet’s dog’s cats and even a parakeet.

"In addition to a conventional studio portrait, I’d like to have poses taken at one of my favorite places or out of doors, is that possible?"
No problem!
The studio is located on 5 ¼ acres in the heart of Gainesville with gardens, trees, creeks, and backgrounds such as Little Mexico, Mike’s Mountain, and The Palisade, new backgrounds as requested. Some people have compared Mike’s grounds to a little Hollywood set or even a theme park. I can also go out to your favorite location (s) as an extra session and the cost are very reasonable.4

Our prices are extremely competitive. And we offer a wide variety of price options.

"Couldn’t an amateur photographer do as well?"
NO.
I have over twenty seven years of experience using different lighting and poses that make you look your best. I also have the only outside environments of there kind in the area.

"Some say that the school shooters; The photographers schools bring in for senior portraits treat students like cattle in a chute. Is your studio environment any better?"
YES! YES! YES! More creative, less stress more professional = better results. I take the time to help you capture the perfect portrait, the average session is two hours.

"Could a Mike Shea photo session be described in one word?"
FUN.

"I am involved with different clubs and sports at school. Can I bring some special items with me to personalize my photo session?"
Totally, bring along Cars, Motorcycles, Letter Jackets, you name it and we will help make it happen.

Does Mike Shea Photography offer a pre-session consultation so I’ll be better prepared?"
Yes. And it’s free.

"About zits and spots that appear on my face, is there an answer?"
There’s make-up of course (see item 11). With the new digital portraiture there is no charge for general retouching and removing of unwanted visitors to the face (Please discuss this when placing your order) Extensive retouching is available at an additional charge.

"Speaking of make-up -- pile on lots of it?"
No! Use make-up sparingly and not too soon. Apply normal to slightly more than normal just before the session. I will gladly give suggestions at the consultation just ask. I have a well-lit, private dressing room with a large mirror so you can change, freshen up and do any final primping as needed.

Can I use the photograph you take for the yearbook?
In most cases no the yearbook people require you use their photographer.

I have been told that I have to buy my senior portraits from the school photographer is this true?
You will have to pay their sitting fee for the yearbook, but you can have the Senior Portraits that you will cherish and give to your friends and family taken anywhere, (may I suggest Mike Shea Photography)
